Guildford brigade busy fundraising

Tankers cost a bit of money so Guildford Fire Brigade has been busy trying to generate some funds towards the process.

If you have ever visited Guildford you will know the brigade can whip up a mean pancake and BBQs are pretty good too so they have used one of their strengths as a great way to raise some funds.

For the second year running the brigade has hosted a Nav Run (Navigation). Approximately 35 cars or 70 participants used a GPS tracker to drive around the area through Maldon, Mt Franklin, Fryerstown and Chewton amongst other localities using their navigation skills to earn points, points were deleted for speeding. The brigade hosted a breakfast for the travellers over both days and gave some advice traversing those local roads.

A local family held a large family reunion and no better place for it was the fire station. Again the brigade fired up the barbie to keep all the family well feed as they recalled all their important family memories.

Over the weekend Guildford held a Historic Engine Rally. The town was teeming with engines of all sorts. The brigade was there again providing food to the visitors while they were looking at the fire ‘engines’ in the station.

Guildford Fire Brigade has a great team of members willing to help the community out not only as firefighters but also to maintain the sustenance of the community and its visitors. With the Banjo Jamboree coming up in September, put it in your diary as another place to visit; I’ll have a pancake with the lot thanks Shane!
